Hi! I'm Erynn Elyse Dostaler. I grew up in Neptune Beach, Florida, and currently reside in Atlantic Beach, FL. In 2010, I graduated from the University of North Florida with a BFA in Photography and a minor in Printmaking. During that time and in the years that followed, I have had the opportunity to work with some phenomenal professional artists. I have worked in collaboration for magazines such as Luxury Living Magazine, Jacksonville Magazine, Certa Magazine and Jacksonville Event Wedding Styles. I have collaborated with an abundance of other artists for public performance art pieces in Philadelphia, PA, New Orleans, LA, Jacksonville,FL and St. Louis, MO. I have also taken a hand in teaching others. I was a lab technician at UNF for the photography lab, helping others make the best of their photographs and mastering their techniques outside of the classroom. I was also a lab technician for the printmaking lab and was a teaching assistant after graduation. These experiences helped to launch my career into growing with the ever-changing fashion industry, as well as weddings and portraiture. Along my journey, I have gained tools and experience in capturing the individual expressions of the people I photograph, a passion that fuels every photo I take. My goal for each client is to give them photos that they will treasure for the rest of their lives and a beautiful piece of history to pass down through generations.
My interest in photography started at a young age, watching my uncle, a professional photographer, and my father, a camera enthusiast. I was brought up around cameras of all kinds, so it just came natural for me to eventually pick one up and start taking pictures of the people and things around me.
I feel very fulfilled that my interest in photography developed from a hobby to a college degree to my profession. I feel that every photograph I take is a way for others to see how I view the world, even if just for a moment. The first photograph of mine to be published is a landscape taken in Lucern, Switzerland when I was a senior in high school. I am inspired by all types of fashion… shoes, jewelry and clothing inspire me and challenge me to push my boundaries. I was published in 2013 in Salon Today Magazine for taking interior shots of a successful hair salon in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, a shoot that combined two of my favorite things: setting and fashion. Most recently, my work has been published on the back cover of skirt! magazine in Charleston, SC, as well as Jacksonville's own LA DE DA magazine. I love combining the arts of printmaking and photography into unique keepsakes for my clients. I learned how to crochet the summer of 2015, so that I could make my own props for newborn sessions. That business is called Edith and Nancy. Feel free to check it out in the shop section :-)!
